2018 Poker Hall of Fame

2018 Poker Hall of Fame

2018 Poker Hall of Fame nominations are now open – Nomination are being accepted online and fans are for obvious reasons encouraged to participate by submitting their nominations together with a brief explanation as to their choice.

All submissions will be taken into consideration with top 10 nominations reviewed by the Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council. The existing Poker Hall of Fame members and a blue ribbon media panel will then be required to cast votes of the final list of nominees which will then determine the class of 2018.

The Poker Hall of Fame traditionally elects one or two members annually, and the enshrinement ceremony will be held in concert with the final table of the Main Event of the WSOP, held in Las Vegas.

The main criteria for the Poker Hall of Fame are as follows:

• A player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition
• Played for high stakes
• Be a minimum of 40 years old at time of nomination
• Played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers
• Stood the test of time
• Or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.

The Poker Hall of Fame was created in 1979 with seven individuals inducted that year including Johnny Moss and Red Winn. As of 2017, there are now 54 individuals that have been named as a member of the Poker Hall of Fame with the late David Ulliott and Phil Ivey also included last year.
